There are no strangers, just friends you haven’t met before

Make sure you connect with other travelers. Even when you are traveling as a couple or with friends, other travelers may have some great information and tips on where to go and what to do. Recommendations from people who just came from that hotel, that city or just did that trip are the best, since it is very likely not much has changed since then. It can also be great fun to hire a car with several people and explore places you wouldn’t have gone to by yourself or as a couple since it would be too expensive and not fit your budget. Sharing costs such as vehicle rental and petrol can make it worthwhile. When you are traveling by yourself, be open for the possibility to meet new friends to travel with. Just start with booking a day trip, and hang out with the other travelers on that tour. Most likely you’ll find more people who are traveling alone just like you, and would enjoy your company for a while. They will be like-minded: they enjoy traveling, love to see and explore new places, just like you. The great thing about traveling with these new friends is that there are usually no hard feelings when you need to split up, for instance when the one person wants to go to a different city, or stay longer to explore a certain place more. Who knows where you’ll meet them again.

Also, have fun hanging out with local families and learn from the kids how to play their little pebble games with them.
